THON 2009
has ended with a total of over $7.4 Million Dollars raised! |
| What is THON? | Day 1 pictures & videos |
| The world's largest
student run philanthropic organization;
THON is a year long effort that raises money for children
with cancer and the awareness of pediatric cancer. Through
various student organizations, alumni, family, and friends;
PSU has raised over $52 million dollars since 1972 which has
benefited the Four Diamonds Fund at the Penn State
Children's Hospital.
At the end of our year long efforts, all of the participating student organizations, Greek life, commonwealth campuses, and independents come together and have selected members take part in the 46 hour dance marathon (hence the name THON). During the 46 hours, families, friends, alumni, and all other interested indviduals convene in the Bryce Jordan Center and cheer on the dancers.
